Photography / desCAOS

In 2005 and 2006, I was hired by the Amazonas state government to document a redevelopment project in areas on the banks of streams in Manaus. I was put face to face with the misery, filth and grief of families who, despite being transferred to new homes, were leaving behind their stories and their landscapes.

In the midst of that chaos, I also sought another view that could counterpoint such an overwhelming theme: details of the popular wooden houses, stripped interiors of the houses, alleys, colourful clothes hanging to dry.
