The exhibit “José Oiticica Filho” opened today at Galeria Indica, Rio de Janeiro. 

Oiticica (1906-1964) was an entomologist and photographer, who, from the mid 1950s until his death, worked with experimental, abstract photography. The exhibit shows a selection curated by his grandson, Cesar Oiticica Filho, himself a photographer and filmmaker. 

I have been his researching his work and, in 2014/2015, I did a postdoctoral research at Freie Universität Berlin. There is an article on him in Portuguese linked in my “Research” tab.
